It was really a shock to me to hear the sad news about Bogie Reeves. I was talking with Bogie and Rose at the Des Plaines Historical society the day Jay gave his presentation there, and Bogie looked to be in fine health. A short time later I had the pleasure of introducing Bogie and Rose to my wife Mary at the reunion at Vanguard Hall, and to tell her about their story. The eerie thing is that at the historical society, one of the things we talked about was an old friend (and another former Vanguard snare drummer), Gary Ochipinti. Bogie had given me the surprising news that Gary had passed away some time ago.
There is more I'd like to say about Bogie, but I can't find the words right now. Fare thee well old friend, and give my best to Gary.
